“He that walks with wise men shall be wise; but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Proverbs 13:20.
One sure way to wealth and personal success is through associating with the wise, rich and successful people around you. When you have the rich and successful as your mentor, you have at your disposal the tested and proven success formula of such accomplished men and women. What’s more, you have the privilege of a helping hand to pull you up when you slip, a listening ear to share your problems, a shoulder to lean on, and a compass to point the way forward.
In this time and age when information technology has reduced the world to a global village, getting a mentor is an easy and attractive route to wealth and success. You can exploit the power of information technology (Internet and mobile phone) to stay in touch with your mentors, wherever they may be. Books, audios and videos offer effective media for you to learn from your mentors.
In some traditional societies, mentoring is the time-honoured route to wealth and success. Young men and women who desire to create wealth in business, commerce or the professions, usually attach themselves to mentors (masters and mistresses) whom they serve, while learning the business of such mentors. At the end of the apprenticeship, they leave to set-up their own businesses, with moral and financial support from their mentors.
If you seriously desire to be rich and successful, get yourself a mentor in your chosen field. Many great men and women once sat at the feet of mentors to receive life changing instructions and advice. Look for outstanding individuals in your area of interest, and apply to be coached by them. This is a sure way to learn and quickly multiply your experience, build your confidence and reach your goals in record time.
“A wise man will hear and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.“ Proverbs 1:5.
When you find a mentor, treat him or her with respect. Successful people value their time. Do not waste your mentor’s time with frivolous issues. Make contact only when absolutely necessary. Never be a financial burden to your mentor, or a nuisance in any way. Instead, find out what your mentor appreciates, and occasionally surprise him or her with appropriate quality gifts. Always keep to the laws of mentorship. Act maturely and avoid frivolities.
Many legitimately rich and successful people are quite accommodating and eager to share their success stories and secrets with genuinely interested protégées. So, do not be afraid to approach and politely ask successful people for guidance and support. See you at the top.
Stay Smart, Wealthy and Wise!
